APPLE has never said "Never" vis-a-vis tablets; what they said was that
they could not currently make one that would, 1) meet their high quality
specifications, and 2) sell at a reasonable price. APPLE invests
billions of $ in R&D, so I'm sure this is one of their projects.

"APPLE will release no product before its time" to modify a well-known
winery's slogan.
