[NTLK] Newton can't connect error

Hello folks,

I've installed NCU on my Mac (running OS 9)
but when I try to connect my MP to it
using the Dock app, I get a
"The connection was stopped because there
was no response" error.

I've tried NCU on Windows XP with the same
result.

For the Mac, I used a Keyspan adapter and an old Apple
serial cable I had lying around.

For the Windows machine I used a Keyspan adapter
and a Windows - Newton cable I got off eBay.

To connect the Newt to the serial cable, I'm
using that thing (dongle?) that hooks the
keyboard to the MP.

Does anyone have any ideas?
