Hello Mark,

The module you ordered is a third „stage” of power supply.

First you have about 3V from 2 AA cells.
Second you need to boost it up to 5V
Third you need to reduce it to 3,3V and this is a role of module you ordered.

…you can buy this one. One 5V version and one 3,3V and it will solve whole power supply for this project.
Connect both directly to AA cells and done :)
