Lots of people have slapped OSX on to these things, and there is the
one sanctioned Hackintablet out there, based on a 13" MacBook. Have
you looked at or considered any of these?
And I'l reiterate my objection to a tablet--too big. The 2K series
Newton would have been perfect, had it been much thinner, and the body
the dimensions of the screen, or a little more. For a tablet, I
believe that's about the outside edge--say, A5 or half-letter size.
Anything larger, and where do you put the dumb thing? In fact, even at
that size, you have a huge holster. This is the greatest weakness of
tablets. I would rather have a Pre, iPhone, iPod Touch or Nokia N8X0
series than any larger tablet. I'm a boring person, so I doubt I'm
unique. ;-) Nothing screams "geek" louder than a tablet, IMO. Apple
doesn't do "geek" they do "cool". No tablet from Apple, that's still
my take on it.
