The only time I've ever seen a live newt (before I got one in 2007) was when they were trying to clear them out at a local computer store in 98 after the cancelation. They had a demo unit setup that I played with. They were clearancing their stagnant stock of newts for crazy cheap prices but I was a secondary school student and couldn't afford one even at discount.
