I've just ordered an F5U103, and I found the blog mentioned below as well. The particular post was gone--but it's possible to access using the Wayback machine.

The Wayback site contains a blank file where the DMG would be for the compiled, Leopard / Intel-compatible driver. However, the tiger.patch file linked there is "real"--download it.

I used CVS to download the source code from Sourceforge (as linked on the blog post) and then compiled the driver as per the instructions on the blog post.

It patched and compiled just fine--double-check the kext file compiled to make sure it's the architecture you wanted, and to make sure it's timestamped with the correct time and date (if not, it's the old, non-Tiger / Leopard, PPC-only kext). I dropped it in my Library as desribed in the post too. Rebooted, and no errors.

Now, I'm waiting for my F5U103 to arrive, and will report back on how it works (or not) with NCX.

It'd be great to know if the above works for you with your Belkin adapter. Perhaps we should contact the blog post author and ask him to submit the patch and new Intel / Leopard extension to Sourceforge, so it's more easily available.

I had the same adapter (well the plain Jane PC version, but generally
the same device) and in my search for drivers, I found one on
Sourceforge that allegedly worked under OS X (OS 10.2 or 10.3?),
although that was prior to Leopard's release. No idea if it would work
in 10.5

There were a few issues with the driver (ie it it needed some tweaking
to work), but whoever wrote it may actually have got round to addressing
these problems. I couldn't get them to work myself, but I found
instructions on how to tweak the code on the web (a guy's blog
actually): unfortunately I have lost the details. Have you tried
googling Belkin Serial USB adapter?

Alternatively, the Belkin drivers work in OS 9 (so if you have an OS 9
emulator, it might work...) but as far as I know they never released as
OS X version. Worked fine in OS 9.
