This would only fix one problem. It is mandatory to also replace the
resistors, otherwise the Newton will decide out of the blue not to
turn on at all or not to turn the backlight on.

Yes, I do. Can take a couple of days, though, since family and the job

pays the rent are higher on my priority list these days.
