[NTLK] pc card vs battery?

simple question this time: when i'm not using a PC card in my emate
(in this case, wireless - but i also have an ethernet card for it)
should i take it out to save battery, or does it only drain power when
in use?

in other words, is there any drawback to having my wireless card
installed in my emate on a permanent basis?
