I don't worry about the write rewrite cycles but I do worry about
jaggies, breaking the display or other failure. The reason that I
keep my most important information on the internal store is that it
can be backed up quickly and easily to a card. If I have a card with
a backup on it, I can get a replacement 2100, brainwipe it and restore
from my card. The replacement will be almost identical to the
original. Exceptions are system patches, any software that is keyed
to the Newton ID and some Dashboard launcher items will need to be
reconnected.. Name keyed registrations will be fine.

As I mentioned before, I keep my essential data and connection
packages on the internal store and do card backups frequently. Books,
games and other applications are stored on a card. Works documents
are saved on a card, I back these files up with NCX or email. If you
don't select to always store Names, Dates and Notes internally then be
sure to keep careful track of where they are as I have lost
information by assuming a card was empty because there were no
packages or extensions on it.

This works for me.
