You are probably referring to the two LED's hiding in the mesh pocket
on the backside. Visually...it's in the same spot as the PCMCIA...that,
is a Radio Shack RS-232 mini tester which is connected to DB25 Mac
modem cable.
The miniature GPS antenna (black square) is magnetically mounted on the
exposed, flat side of the DB25 cable, which is then connected to the
mini tester. The mini tester slides perfectly into the mesh pocket
along with the Polstar's data cable. Besides being useful in testing,
it also allows me to show off some blinky lights when the Newton
communicates with the GPS.
