Well by eye this woiuld mean they are not. To be fully sure if and
when you had an upgrade card you would:
Goto Extras
Tap 'i'
Tap 'Memory Info'
You should then see the last line say System RAN Installed 3972K if it
was upgraded.

Check around, there are a few methods about retrieving them.
One has to do with dropping the batteries or banging them. Some how
this will get them to take a charge. Do a Google search for it as this
will offer ever more options as in replacing the dead batteries or
putting in a battery tray also...
