I have my settings set to remove mail from the server after a month. I
keep any important messages pertinent to my work on my work computer
and important ones pertinent to home on my home computer (and this is
why i like to read all my mail on both computers, so i don't read a
'home' email at work, have it deleted from the server, and then not
have a copy of it at home). i'd like to use the newton to read mail
while on the go, so i don't want to miss anything important while out
and about either.

I don't have my apps set up to do this, but if I get time I will try it
and see. For now, i have given up on SimpleMail again, for this and
other problems with it:
Another problem that I have been witnessing is a progressive slow down
in the retrieval and processing of mail by SimpleMail. this has
occured with my initial installation after first getting my newton and
now again after doing a brain wipe and reinstalling everything.
retrieving 100 messages used to be very speedy, but now it is fraught
with slowness, hangs, and crashes that cause restarts. I suspect it is
due to the internal store filling up with data, pkgs, caches, etc.
but, if I make my card the default for storing In/Out items, then it is
so slow as to make the newton not useful. in the past, i have tried to
move most pkgs to the card stores to free up space, but then i ran into
errors with having to have certain things installed internally. how do
others who use their newtons for email deal with this? what's the best
way to manage pkgs and data (and caches, prefs, and other necessary
files)? i'd like to make the newt my only home computer, but i don't
quite have things clicking yet.
thanks,
