Thanks to the guys who referred me to File Pad in lieu of FMC which was
apparently never finished.
File Pad looks perfect and has incredible potential for my uses!! Thank you!
I've been fretting over whether I should abandon my long cherrished (and well
perfected) custom contact database in FMP in favor of a commercial/canned PIM
app that I could sync with.
Now I realize I don't have to do that. VERY COOL! In the coming days I'll be
re-creating my FMP database in File Pad, move all my contacts to it and clean
out the built-in Names app to free up a little memory.
This ability to sync might even convince my wife (who is considering a PDA
purchase) to go with Newton! I think if I get this working, it'll tip the
scales for her! Will there be any issues if we're both syncing to the same
FMP database? She'll have a slightly different subset of those records in her
Newton v.s. mine? Does this create any complications/handicaps for File pad
and it's sync features?
This'll be great but now, A CHALLENGE I'D LIKE TO RAISE TO the network-card
savvy DEVELOPERS OUT THERE: This app despirately needs Appletalk awareness so
I can connect-n-sync via my ethernet PC card instead of the klutzy serial
cable and dongle.
WHICH OF YOU WILL DARE TO PULL THIS OFF?
Anyone? Anyone?
