[NTLK] How to use proxy server with NIE?

How do you set up NIE to use a proxy server? My Newton is getting an IP address from the DHCP server on the Windows NT 4 box at work, but it isn't resolving any domain names. I notice that my workstation here is set to use a proxy server, so I'm guessing that's the problem on the Newton.

I see where to set "Proxy URL" in NewtsCape, but that didn't seem to help. Besides, that wouldn't help SimpleMail or Eudora, would it?

I've tried using a manual setup in NIE, but I don't see anyplace to enter a proxy address. Manually setting the router and client IP address didn't help. Am I out of luck?
