Hi gang,
since the Newtie award nominations at www.thisoldnewt.com are still
underway, I thought it was
high time for me to publish some new step by step instructions that will
help you keep your Newton usable for a looong time. This is why as of
three minutes ago the final version of my instructions for how
to replace the backlight of a Newton 2000 and 2100 are available. Have
a look at them here
http://www.pda-soft.de/2x00backlightreplacement.html (English version)
or here
http://www.pda-soft.de/ge_2x00backlightreplacement.html (German version)
On these pages you will also find a detailed review of a brand new
Newton 2x00
backlight replacement kit I recently came across. It is (in my humble
and unimportant opinion) of excellent quality. And I was even able to
talk
them into a little discount if you mention that you found them through
the site
in the signature ;-)
Stay tuned for the next project: Instructions for rebuilding OMP / MP100
battery packs.
Cheers
Frank
