This is a new one on me. I have been soft-resetting Newts with cards
installed for nearly a decade and no problems yet. I have 8 Newts running
2.0, all have cards, all have been reset hundreds of times over the years
with no ill effects.
Hard reset is a different matter and a card eject prior to that is a good
idea.
Perhaps Pretec are more susceptible than others or a particular package's
soup is responsible?
Joel.
