Rhonda,

I have had a Newton since they were introduced and still have a OMP, 110,
120 and a 2100 and just bought an Emate. I use the 2100 and Emate and other
family member use the others. I am an admitted computer nut and have plenty
around still from a Commodore 64, several Amiga's, 3 Apple computers (a 6200
power pc, a Imac and my brand new toy a Clamshell Ibook) and several pc's. I
have tried other PDA's but fall back to the Newton for most of my stuff.

I also like you have camera's and some are manual (Rollei 35's for the most
part) but do have some more advanced including several Contax cameras and
the one that I use the most is my Contax G1. I also have two digitals, a
Canon that I bought 4-5 years ago (1.3 megapixel) and bought a new one a
Casio QV-R40 (4 megapixel).

My wife says I am an Addict! I just see the different picture where old and
new technology can co-exist. I do use digital but I also use film.

You are far from the only one out there...

I'm also a huge fan of the newton (it goes almost everywhere with me)
and a bit (*ahem*) of a computer geek... who doesn't feel the need to
buy the latest and greatest techno-toys. (Even if I do drool over some
of them on occasion.) I also hate the phone and the TV, and am a wet
blanket on my other half's gadget lust... to his simultaneous dismay and
relief :-)

I have confused a few people who can't reconcile what they see as the
"geek vs. luddite dichotomy".

Hooray for black and white thinking... you're either a geek and
therefore a technophile-gadget-loving-buy-anything-with-blinkenlights
kind of person, or you're a luddite who hates all technology including
the truly useful. It seems there's no room for somebody to like
technology when it's appropriate and dislike useless blinkenlights
techno-toys.

And I'm still not trading in my fully manual, steel bodied, film camera.
Not even for the massively drool-worthy digital SLRs...

;-)
