Paul,
    You are, in fact, a stud! All the packages seem to be fine when I boot
with all the packages on the card deactivated and only activate the ones I
am testing. Now all I have to do is slowly go through the remaining packages
and try to figure out which one is not playing well with others.
    Thank you for your prompt and sage reply. Why didn't I think of that?
How much do I owe you?

    Can I assume from this that this is a software problem an that my card
is fine?
