I am new to the Newton platform, having owned my MP2100 (upgrade) for
about three weeks. This thing is great, the HWR, internet and email, and
pretty much everything about it puts the best of any Palm OS device to
shame (well, OK now Palms have color, but who needs that in a PDA?)
Anyway, the whole point in this email is that I have a few questions
about
this device.
1. I use AA batteries to power my unit when away from AC power. I have
noticed that it only takes about 25 to 30 minutes of use to go from 100%
to 90%. Is this normal?
2. Web browsing is slow. My 486/33 Toshiba laptop with MIE 3.0 is
significantly faster. Shouldn't the Newt's 162 MHz chip make it be
somewhat faster? (I have NetHopper 3.2 and whatever the latest version of
Luna Suite Pro is)
3. It reboots a lot when web browsing. Sometimes it will also do
something
weird (like not let me use "Dock" claiming there is other communication
going on when there isn't. Why is it doing this, and how can I solve this
problem?
Other than those, my MP operates beautifully. If anyone out there could
help me out I would gladly appreciate it!
