The upgrade is definitely worth it in terms of usability of the machine.
However, given the current prices of 2100's out there, you might be better
off buying one of those and keep the 2000 as a backup unit.
To the best of my knowledge Dr. Newton still does the upgrade, and
I have never heard anyone complaining about his work.
