Salutations,

It isn't true because I say it. It is true because the market said it.
You can argue all you want, but you can't argue with history. Well,
actually I suppose you can and will. Keep doing it. See how far it gets
you.

Umm, exactly who cares how much it was losing. The actual number isn't
important. What is important is that the Newton cost more to make and
maintain than it was bringing into Apple.

Yeah, an we see how much success he had. Here is a bit of advice. If you
are going to offer a person as an example of how to do something, don't pick
a failure.

A new gimmick? The 'new gimmick' was a cut? Steve saw an anchor on
Apple. The Newton had plenty of time to become profitable before Steve cut
it. You want to blame someone? Blame the designers of the Newton. Blame
the marketers of the Newton. Blame the salesmen of the Newton.

It isn't like Steve killed the Newton before it was released.

He ran a couple companies before becoming CEO of Apple. And?

Well, yeah. I wouldn't say that 'everything else' is based on the
original Mac. They both are all-in-ones, but that is about where the
similarity ends.

Cheers,
