Hi Everyone,
Just tried Fiber To The Home (FTTH) this weekend.
A friend of mine has it.
So I did my usual test of DL'ing Mac OS 9.2.1 update (about 83MB).
My results:
28.8 --> 6.5 hours
ADSL --> 14 minutes
FTTH --> 7 seconds
Wow! :-o
My buddy is a finance type, not a geek -- go figure. Lucky fellow!
I almost broke down and cried after I DL'ed the file 4 times (7, 8, 10
and 12 seconds) in less than a two minute period.
...actually, I DL'ed it five times. But the first one was so quick, that
I was unable to time it.
I am sure looking forward to the day when I can get FTTH.
Anybody else around the world have FTTH.
Is sure is nice.
...a far cry from the 300 baud days!
