Salutations,
I agree that his love for the eMate had nothing to do with him killing th=
e
Newton.
The Newton, being a complete and utter business flop, is what killed it.
Sure, it is a technological marvel. Sure, it is still the best PDA out
there. Sure, it still has the best HWR. Sure, it has the best PDA OS.
The only problem is that only a few people wanted it. It was losing mone=
y
and unfortunately at the time, so was Apple. I am positive that if Apple
was raking in the money, that the Newton would have been a carried for much
longer. Apple could not afford to absorb the loss anymore.
Believe me, if it was profitable, Apple would have kept it.
I think Jerry Jones or the Dallas Cowboys is an idiot. His ego has drive=
n
the cowboys into the ground. Personally, I hate the cowboys so this is a
good thing. One things that he said I will always remember"
"I never let my money get angry."
These are words to live by. And no businessman accumulates the wealth of
Jobs by being an idiot that allows his emotions to continually override his
business acumen.
And the eMate actually inspired the iMac.
Cheers,
David
