Mac OS 8.6 works well with all Newt applications and is a very good bridge
between the probably still valuable old software you have and the latest
carbonised releases that are being made for OS X.

MacWrite Pro 1.5 is the ideal way to interface with Works docs IMO as yout
can transparently swap documents back and forth with all formatting intact.
