This doesn't well suit those of us wishing to use it as a poster.. getting a
quality print out of a scanned image like that could be.. difficult. The
file would be a little unwieldy.. though I suppose the person doing the
scanning could write CDs to distribute.. Using a high quality digital camera
image as a guideline, a Jpeg requires 1/3 byte/pixel. At only half printer
resolution (720dpi for modern inkjets- so 360dpi) a 44" square image would
require over 80 MB. Full res would be over 300MB. I've never tried opening
a Jpeg that big ;)
You wouldn't even want to consider dealing with it uncompressed (hint: 1/2
res wouldn't fit on a standard CDR)
Then of course there's the issue of finding someone to print it from that
file...
