Interesting. This is just ethernet that we've been trying to get going
with a 3Com 3CXE589ET. Works fine on my MP2100 with 717260, and a 2100 with
717006 can't see the card.
I searched the AppleCare database and it says NIE 2.0 and ethernet
support require 717041 or higher.

Would the error be "sorry a problem has occurred (-48807)"?
If so, there may be no problem (other than the error message).
