  The Dock came from NeXT.
Tabs came from Borland, along with contextual menus.
  Overlapping windows came from Apple.

  And a few other things:

The optical mouse MS introduced came from HP.
  USB was bought by Intel.
  Frontpage was bought by microsoft.
Access was originally a communications program by microsoft.
Xerox bought the mouse from an inventor. What is really interesting is
that the inventor had a choice to go with a single large payment or a small
royalty for each mouse sold. He made the wrong choice.

Cheers,
David
