Did I miss that the serial port on the printer is a DB-9 and not the
round Apple DIN-8? If that's the case, forget my AppleTalk banter... You
would need the boxes. Sorry, older LJ's used to have the Apple Serial
port on them before they moved it to a JetDirect card...

I did use the standard Newton-to-PC cable, with a 9-to-25 adapter and a=20
gender changer (the back of the LaserJet is a mess <G>). No crossovers.

Actually, the LJ4 has a menu option to choose RS-422 for serial. IIRC
that=20
is the Apple serial protocol.

Yes, it does. At least, it has a LaserJet driver; nothing LJ4 spcific,=20
