Hi there! Greetings from Buenos Aires, Argentina.
I own a Newton MP2000 upgraded to 2100, and I have been using it with no
problem at all synchronizing between it and my Windows 2000 notebook
running Office 2000. To do so I had bought from PDA Direct the license for
Outlink.
Now my company switched to Windows XP and Outlook XP as standards, and
since my notebook was upgraded to that platform I have never been able to
use Outlink anymore. The application installs and runs, but as soon as it
begins synching, an error appears on the PC: ?ActiveX can?t create a
component?. This is probably due to a lack of support for Office XP
component model.
I have sent a lot of emails to PDA Direct, with no response at all. They
did answered fast when they had to charge me for the software, but not now
that I am asking them for some answer, at least to tell me if they are
developing some new version or if should I dump Outlink and foget about it.
If any of you know of some way to make Outlink work under Windows XP/Office
XP (I really don?t think the OS is the problem, it must be the Office
version), or if any of you knows how can I contact PDA Direct, please let
me know.
Thanks.
Gustavo.
