Steve, it's more or less the same reasons which make me work on
NewtonOS software:
1/ fun of implementing it
2/ developer to work with on shared projects
3/ user community (I should say there is nothing like the Newton
users community -- I enjoy it over the internet every day and also
meeting Newton users like Victoria or Rodney)
4/ technical information out of it -- the amazement factor when
working on NewtonOS, the most advanced OS IMHO.
5/ I can mention it in my résumé (I think my résumé is what let me do
a 4th year CS degree although all I had were a 3rd year degree of
Economics and a 3rd year degree of Logic - and I hope it will help me
be eligible for a PhD where I want to do it).
