Yahoo doesn't look like they would get into bankruptcy anytime soon, so
why don't you sign up for a free Yahoo email account. Looking at your
mail address I would say you have a great chance to get the very same
name at Yahoo 'cause I don't think this one will have been taken
already ;-)
Then, unsubscribe and resubscribe with your new account and if available
set a forward on the old account so that for as long as it remains alive
it will divert all inbound traffic to you.
Of course there are others like USA.net and M$'s h0tmail, but Yahoo is
the only one I know of that gives you POP access for free - all you need
to do is opt in to a once per week "spamming" of your choice. I.e. if
you select "travel" you'll get a mail from Travelocity with cheap last
minute airline deals once a week, usually Fridays. That's a reasonable
deal if you ask me.
