Well, yes and no. I agree that we should be thankful and supportive of
Newton developers that continually develop for the Newton. I just
registered NewtsCape as an example.
But I see something wrong with charging full price for software that was
last updated 3 years ago. Many of these companies that I am talking about
are now doing development for the Palm and I am happy that Apple dropping
the Newton did not put these companies out of business.
An example. I am thinking of registering More Folders by Stand Alone
software. The software has been in beta status since 1998. And they want
to charge the same price as when it was being developed and enhanced.
Don't get me wrong. This is their software and they can charge whatever
price they want. And of course I don't need to purchase it.
I just think they should drop the price a bit since the software is not
being enhanced/supported. Especially when someone is planning on purchasing
multiple packages at the same time.
But that is completely up to them. I guess I'm just bitching that they
won't drop the price any. :)
