Folks;
Some of you may gasp, others may marvel, others may not care, but I just
pulled off the WriteRight from my uMP2k. It's been on there since I
first got it, which was new when the MP2k first came out. I found out
about screen protectors and within a week or two I had a WriteRight on
my Newton.
A year or so ago I bought some NuShields since I couldn't find
WriteRights anywhere and found out they weren't being made anymore. I
saw some on ebay offered by someone named Wormly Noodwonker and other
disreputable types, who were charging half the price of a newton for a
package of these screen protectors. I decided to stick with my small
allotment and hope for the best since my screen seemed fine.
For all those of you who are concerned about leaving your WriteRights on
too long, my experience as of this morning is that it came off like a
charm, leaving only a slight residue along the edges. It was as if I put
it on last month. I've heard so much talk about changing protectors
every month, but after this experience I think these are urban legends.
I don't know what you other folks, especially you 'gorillas' ;-) that
wear through your screen protectors, are doing, but my now limp and
flaccid WriteRight shows no visible signs of wear. Do you turn on a
dental drill and use it as a stylus?
Anyone else have any similar or dissimilar experience?
Mark
