[NTLK] 130 Backlight back to life?

My MP130 backlight was flaking out, blinking even when plugged to AC adapter. So I decided to crack open the case and poke around. Everything looked fine, the little daughter board (ROM?)was alittle lose. I plugged in the AC adapter with the cover off and "Poof!", the backlight was bright and strong. No blinking or fading? It worked even after I put the cover back on! Any ideas on why this would seem to fix a backlight problem?
