I also had the SER-001 package waiting for me when I arrived home yesterday.

Such good things come from small packages.

The board is cleanly and professionally created.

The installation was straight forward and, if it wasn't for the euphoria of
trying out my new geek stuff, I could'a swore that the keyboard was more
responsive :)

The only -slight- problem that I can see is that the board ever-so-slightly
pushes out the back of the newton case. Not a lot - just enough to notice
if you look closely.

I haven't had the chance to play further with it. In my freetime, I hope to
test various combinations of printing (using the newton print cable) and
serial docking.

So far, it is well worth the money.

I purchased a SER-001 board from David Humphreys and installed it in
my Newton 2100. It works great. To confirm a connection with
Appletalk, I downloaded a package from NCU and printed a Notion list
to a network printer.

Installation was straight forward. David includes an instruction
sheet. Only two nervous moments. One was opening the 2100. I didn't
want to snap any of the closure points. The second was lining up the
pins into the connector. Getting the pins lined up and then pushing
the connector together took some time because you don't want to bend
any pins.

Sorry I am not able to provide photos. I don't have the equipment.
