It came to my attention several days ago that some
people were having difficulties downloading the LOTR
packages from my server...This was a problem I did not
experience.
I have spent the last several days investigating the
problem and it is now fixed.
For those who tried to download the files and
couldn't, try again now. I have tested it and it does
now work.
For those who want to know the details, read on.
It seems that someone hijacked one of my domains. I
don't know why but they aliased one of my domains to
point somewhere else. I never saw the problem because
I use LMHOST files on all of my machines (speeds up
browser time by not needing to go to a DNS server to
lookup the URL...)As such, my browses came up fine
with no problem. Only after trying it at my parents
house (no LMHOST file there) did I see the actual file
not found message...darn! I am still trying to get my
domain back, but the internic is fighting me every
step of the way! In the meantime, I have moved the
LOTR files over to one of my other servers that I know
is working properly.
I've changed all the links to point to my alternate
server (manual LoadBalancing!) and they all work now.
I appologize to all that have been trying (I was
wondering why my traffic slowed all of a sudden!) to
get these files and can assure you that it is now
working again.
I hope it won't happen again!
