[NTLK] UMP2000 Contrast

Is it unusual to have to frequently have to adjust the contrast on an
UMP2000? Also, when I am adjusting the contrast the whole screen contrast
tends to get a little hinky with sort of dark lines, if you know what I mean.
This only happens when trying to adjust the contrast. Is there anything to
stabilize this?
