This is a standard problem with the 130 machines. Some have reported they
could fix it by installing FixTrax (available at UNNA), but I can't confirm
that for the (by now) 8 machines I experienced this with. I am inklined to
think that a bad pcb might be the reason for this, I've had two 130's that
had this problem way less often when the part of the PCB that is at the
right
side of the battery compartment (where the ribbon cable connector is) was
pushed slightly upwards. Dr. Newton mentions this on his site as one of the
problems he can fix. Others have reported they could fix it by re-soldering
a couple of soldering joints.
If you pay for return shipping, I can have a look at it for free, but it
is not likely that I'll be able to fix it.
