Since MAD Newton is still very much a work in progress, the interface to
retrieve, store and play MP3s is rudimentary at best (not to slag any of
the amazing work that Eckhart has done so far of course...) Currently,
the easiest (and probably only) way to get MP3s onto your Newton is to
place a file on a web server and then enter the host and file pathname
for each file into the MAD Test app, and then tapping the "Save" button.
This will let you save one file to the default store on your Newton
(providing you have the space) and allow you to replay it locally by
tapping "Replay".
It's definitely not a straight-forward, transparent user interface at
this point. But it works. Perhaps it's best to wait until MAD Newton is
more complete or Eric has released his aforementioned utility.
Eckhart, please feel free to add your dos centavos at any time.
