Interesting. Yet I took GIS to simply be the use of the coordinates
themselves (such as UTM), which is what I saw the software doing as it was
displaying the coordinates themselves. Yet I do not recall if it was using
the coordinates themselves, or was more of a database for collection of the
coordinates...
IMO a true GPS handheld is about $6,000 US, just displays cryptic

Wow! As an Ecologist, and seeing most people in our field continually
looking for money via grants, I wonder how Wildlife Biologists got so
lucky?!!! :-)
