The first time I opened up Bonsai I thought it was rather silly, but then
fell prey to its hypnotic power. :) As far as I've been able to figure out,
the little button rotates through three different tools you have. All of
the tools work the same way - drag a line right or down to increase the
parameter that that tool changes, or drag a line left or up to decrease.
There's a tool for adding/subtracting limbs, scaling up or down, and moving
the tree around the screen. I have no idea what relevance the age of the
tree has, nor if this program has any use beyond creating a vibrating,
slightly creepy bonsai tree. Actually I take that back. As I've been
writing this email i had the program running on my newton. Apparently the
limbs fan out and droop with age. Neato. Anyway, as far as I can tell it's
just a fun little program, but it definitely has some power of hypnosis to
it. 8]
