I've had mine on for about 30 mins, and I can already tell where the chips
are...
Most chips do run quite hot - to really tell, this should be done in a
controlled fashion on several eMates. Telling temperature with your fingers
is notoriously fallible. I would look to other performance signs : battery
life (which you mentioned), OS quirks & glitches, and keeping an eye on
heap/memory, and if you have access to other eMates, perhaps some speed
benchmark tests and direct comparisons of memory etc. Read the terms of
your purchase, and good luck. A sick Newton is never much fun!
Can you tell I'm trying to deny my eMate could have the same sickness? ;-)
