Batteries don't like to operate at those temps. Try looking at the ambient and battery temps. in Avi's Battery Statistics.
Other than that, there might be condensation inside your Newt.
Keep it in a dry, warm room overnight and see what happens.
I was up in Grousse Mtn. this past Nov., it was -8° C at 5000 ft., my MP2Ku worked fine except for the cold air messing with the screen, brrrrrr!
