Thanks for the response, Ben.
The really weird thing is that I did get it to work earlier today- I used
a can of compressed air and really dusted out the area between the case
and the screen and voila, it worked again. I brought it back to the
student, and he returned it to me a little while later right where we
started. So I'm letting it sit overnight without the battery hooked up to
see what happens.
