Yes, the Palm is, but the Newton is not. Therein lies the problem. There
are some IrDA protocols that were never implemented on the Newton.
David Arnold used to have a very useful Newton Infrared FAQ up at
http://www.dstc.edu.au/AU/staff/david-arnold/newton/ir-faq.html...but it
seems to have disappeared. David, are your Newton pages still up (I hope)?
They had a pretty full discussion of the subject matter.
My understanding is that there are some additional complex IrDA protocols
that would have to be coded for communications with the Palm to work. And,
as far as I know, no one is doing it. Sorry.
