The handset connector is probably an RJ12. You'll have a hard time
finding an RJ11(standard phone)->RJ12 cable.

I would suggest looking into one of Konexx's connectivity products. They
make all kinds of converters to allow analog phone devices to use digital
lines. (I've never used any of their products, I've just read about them
and they seem pretty neat)
