Hi Robert,
Sorry, I read it, I think, the same way Victor did. The statement made was
that you didn't need NIE 2.0 to run ethernet, that it would run on NIE 1.1
with the enet add-on pkgs and the appropriate platform.
My understanding from the documentation and the common data from other users
is that enet capability came first on NIE 2.0 and was not possible using NIE
1.1. It would be *very* cool if it worked with 1.1 because it is
significantly smaller than 2.0 and, in some situations, a bit more stable.
So, on a NOS2.1 device, have you been able to get ethernet capability
working using NIE 1.1? If so, how? Thanks for your help on what could be,
at least for me, a significant breakthrough!
Regards,
Gary

Hm, somebody is reading something I didn't write.
The goal here was getting the ethernet part in a 2.1 Newton, so I said that
you don't need all of NIE 2.0 to get ethernet to work in that 2.1 Newton (!)
I never said that you'll get them to work in a Newton with system 2.0,
because you won't, just doesn't work, doesn't have the stuff you need in
it's ROM.
