I was running into the same problem the other day and traced it to an
extension called AlarmPak.
To determine this I restarted my newt 2100 with all packages
disabled, and then I individually opened each. When I tried AlarmPak
and wack, a -48200 error.

I've frozen the extension and the problem has not resurfaced (yet).
